The Manipal police have arrested three students of Welcome Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA) in Manipal for their alleged attempt to grievously assault fellow college mate on September 18.
The police gave the names of the arrested persons as Rajveer Singh, Vikramveer Singh and Krish.
In the complaint to Manipal police, the 17-year-old WGSHA student said Rajveer Singh and Vikramveer Singh first abused him while he was in the classroom. Around noon he came out of the college with his college mate Swathik K Bhandary and moved towards the place where his two-wheeler was parked. The duo had planned to have lunch at a nearby hotel.
Soon as they reached the two-wheeler, Rajveer Singh came and abused the complainant while snatching the two-wheeler key. Then Vikramveer Singh and second-year student Krish joined Rajveer Singh. The trio pushed Swathik to the ground. Then they allegedly assaulted Swathik and left the place after threatening Swathik. Swathik was moved to nearby hospital for treatment for a dislocated left shoulder.
The Manipal police registered a case under Sections 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 117(3) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 3(5) (common intention) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. All the three were arrested on September 19.
