50% rebate in fee; admission to core engineering branches up by 18%

Admissions to engineering courses in government engineering colleges that had low demand, such as civil engineering, have increased by 18% this year due to the 50% fee rebate, according to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

The KEA stated that in average admissions to such courses for the last three years was 33%, but it has reached 51% this year.

The admission average for Automobile Engineering was 29% last three years, which has increased to 40%. In Civil Engineering, the admission has increased from 44% to 52%.

Meanwhile, the admissions to Mechanical Engineering has increased to 35% from 21% this year. Silk Technology has got 60% admission, which was 43% in the last three years. Textile Technology engineering admission has increased to 70% from 27%.
